1975-76 as the Kansas City Scouts
1976-77 as the Colorado Rockies
1977-78 as the Colorado Rockies
1978-79 as the Colorado Rockies
1979-80 as the Colorado Rockies
1980-81 as the Colorado Rockies
1981-82 as the Colorado Rockies
1982-83 to present as the New Jersey Devils

Bob, I am aware of that, I am currently working on a book about the NHL draft with the NHL and the current team I am working on is the Scouts/Rockies/Devils franchise. So, a timely question

The Kansas City Scouts (named after a freakin' statue, mind you) started play in 1974 and left for Denver to become the hockey Rockies in 1976. In 1982, they moved to Jersey and became the Devils. The franchise has won the Stanley Cup three times: 1995 (over Detroit), 2000 (over Dallas), and 2003 (over Anaheim).

Actually Cyrenaica, I think it went Scouts to the Colorado Rockies from 76-82 then to NJ.

I believe it was 1981 or 1982. They moved from Colorado where they were called the Rockies.
