It's not just Protestants. If, by "American" you mean "USA", then Mexican culture is not "the largest root". The "largest root" is still English culture. That could change, but that's just how it is at the moment. No amount of high-blown rhetoric changes that.

You should try to get something straight. If you want to claim 1521 for the beginning of Mexico, we can do the same sort ofd thing for AMERICA, as many English explorers explored along the coast in the 1500s. You are SO mixed up. The country of Mexico had its beginnings in the 1800s. Aztecs were the enemies of the Spanish Conquistadores; a separate and distinct civilization from Spain and/or Mexico. The Indian civilizations here are older than there, as it took longer for the natives to migrate down that far.
Once again, there is no American culture because the overwhelming majority of Americans are foreigners. There are more than 60,000,000 German people here; add the millions of Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipinos...Hey, you don't have a leg to stand on, there is no substance to what you claim.

Well, you are incorrect on two points. The Spanish conquered what you call Mexico. The mexican government after wining independence from Spain stole the land of the Spanish and divided it up. As a result the Spanish settlers supported the war of independence waged by the Texans, Californians and New Mexicans and won their independence.
I'm a decendent of those Spanish settlers and a Catholic. I see no legitimate claim for the Mexicans. If they have a claim on any part of the US then Spain has the same claim on all of Mexico.
As a Catholic I thank God for the Protestants. Protestant thinkers During the English civil war came up with the idea of self government and the rule of law. That is the foundation of the United States. Not the Human sacrifice of the Aztec's or then Papel appointment of Rulers by devine right as promoted by the Catholic Church of the 1500's.

Let's see- Mexican culture is profoundly influenced by Spanish culture- that was who conquered that area in the 1500s. Mexico also has a lot of remnants of its older civilizations (the Aztecs and others). America is profoundly influenced by three main cultures- the French, the Spanish and the English. You can find various influences of these in different areas of the country, depending on who claimed the land first.
Edit: Wait, make that four main cultures. I need to add African culture to that list.

No the largest contributing factor to American culture is black culture. Most of our original music and art comes from those we enslaved before the civil war. America would be not the same way it is today without them. Jazz, rock and blues is a good example. Many of the descendants of these who were freed are now wealthly and famous. In the words of the famous Muhammad Ali and I do quote "I am glad my grand daddy got on that boat."

Great question, yes my ancestors were Dutch, French, German were forced to Anglorize. Same with aztecs in Mexico forced to hispanicize the cutlure. Today Mexico, and America culurally mingle more, and more with each other, and nothing will stop it regradless of race, income, nationality because of techology, and social interaction

And The United States has been around for as far back as possibly 40,000 years under a different name. Just like Mexico which had a different name. More important why do Mexicans hate their country and come here illegaly.? Why do Mexicans disrespect our laws?.
