About two weeks ago i was doing lunges with weight on my shoulders for basketball and i felt i couple pops in my left hip. It hurt so bad, my leg locked up and i fell. Coaches were there and they told me to keep going. I was going to see the trainer after words but they were already gone for the 3 day weekend. For the next 2-3 days when i sat down it felt like my leg was paralized. it hurt soooo bad to lift my leg up and i could hardly move it up at all. I could still walk though with a slight limp. Well its been a couple weeks now and its getting better but it still hurts when i move it in certain positions. I used to be able to dunk easily and now i can barely grab the rim. Basketball cuts are coming soon and i dont want to go to the trainers cuz i dont want to sit out and risk my spot on the team. If anyone has any clue on what I did and/or how i can treat it pleaseeeee tell me!!

A popping sound should be checked out. In case you pulled a tendon, you don't want to ruin your hip forever. I know how hard it is to be prepared to play and then get injured. It may be something that can be treated easily. You don't want to injure yourself worse and you may do that. When you play something very hard and you are favoring something, you usually really hurt the opposite side and then you are hurt on both sides. Just go to the trainer and do what he says. Your responsibility to your team says you should be at 100% or have your trainer OK you. Go on and go. . .

You need to see an orthopedist. The coaches may have made the injury worse by telling you to continue.

You really need to have it checked out. It could be a torn muscle or ligament. Setting out for awhile is a lot better that having to set out for good.

Don't do anything strenuous. See a doctor.
P.S. I think coaches are so stupid sometimes.
