The Warfield is in a not-too-great part of town. Enjoy your stay by staying in the Union Square area and hopping the Muni Metro or BART up one stop to Civic Center to catch the show. Or you can cab it, it shouldn't be much.
If you don't plan to leave the hotel except to catch the show, try the Phoenix Hotel. Great rock and roll history there, and a cool bar...
