damp rags or washcloths. Its not a big deal, they were using cloth diapers anyway,so they just throw the washcloth in the laundry too.

Washcloths, old cloth diapers cut into smaller pieces, cotton pads, and anything that was convenient. There are still lots of options that don't involve disposable baby wipes, and are actually better than the mild soap & fragrance coated wipes that can irritate a baby's bottom.

Cloth, just like I use. Disposable baby wipes hurt my child's sensitive skin...and cost a lot more money. Squares of cloth, water and a little baby soap and I am set for diaper changing!

Rags (usually older, worn out cloth diapers cut into smaller pieces) soaked in water. Yes, ladies in the pre-disposable diaper/baby wipe era did a lot of laundry. Oh and P.S....they ALL had to use cloth diapers. My grandmother wrung the used diapers out in the toilet. I am grateful everyday that I live in the age of disposables and wipes.

Baby washcloths moistened with some water and baby oil. Used gloves to rinse out soiled diapers in the toilet. Too bad more mothers aren`t willing to do this anymore, I know it`s not for everyone. It would keep the diapers out of the landfill and save so much money.

My son had an allergy to wipes so I use paper towels. Our mothers most likely used wash cloths.

ROFLMAO...

Cloths, silly! You know those baby washcloths they sell in department stores? I used them exclusively. I almost never used baby wipes - maybe a dozen times, the whole of my diaper years!

And cloth diapers.
