We were not wrong.
And never forget....We don't need "UN permission" to protect ourselves or engage in any other matter of our choosing. We are a sovereign nation. We dont need any permission except our own..
......And if you dont like it! Just try and stop us!!!!!!

I think right or wrong is how you look at the situation with Iraq. Fact - Iraq invaded Kuwait without provocation, burning its oil-fields after being repelled by the USA. Although, we have no evidence linking Saddam with 9-11 or WMD does not alter the fact that he did not have anything to do with them. The manner in which Saddam lured his son-in-law back and then executing him shows you how cunning and conniving he was. In my mind there are no doubts whatsoever of his sinister intentions.

Because most did not know how wrong we were until 2 years after the war ended. Also, of the countries you listed, none of them were supportive of Saddam Hussein. Most nations that were opposed to us opposed us on the grounds that diplomacy was not yet dead. There is no reasonable way that a nation opposed to US policy can affect us in any way other than applying economic pressure, no check on US hegemony.

Because we were told they had WMD and terrorists. Nobody wanted Saddam Hussein to have WMD, however, a lot of countries were against the Iraq invasion. So were a lot of people in this country. Some people in the media have stated that they were afraid of being accused of being anti-American if they spoke out against the Iraq invasion and afraid it would ruin their careers.

They didn't and don't have the means or desire to "stop us". All those countries supported us in the First Gulf War. None of them supported us in the second. Turkey refused to let US use Turkey as a base of operations.

Saudi Arabia is Dubya's partner. I guess Sarkozy wants to be Dubya's fan (like Aznar and Blair). I don't know about the other countries. Maybe they mind their own business.

maybe you don't have a clear image of how colossal US power is or was...our economy (before Bush, but not now) was so strong we could do a great deal of damage to the economy of another country, we spend more on our military than all of the other modern industrialized countries, combined.....it's like asking why didn't you stand up to the 10', 400lb bully on the playground when you were 7.

Well, gee... um... because every other country in the world NEEDS us, and to try to stop our aggression of another nation would be absolute suicide to them?
Maybe that's why?
Or maybe it's because we have the largest military force in the world and to think that anyone could "stop" it from invading a nation the size of Iraq is foolish, childish and ignorant?
