i have my pacu he used to be about a quarter size big now he is the size of a bike peddle when he grows to be 3 feet long will he bite me will he bite at all?

I sure do hope you have a large aquarium like 250-300 gallons! I had a red bellied pacu that was about 12 inches long and luckily I found him a home where they had a 1000 gallon tank! He may bite you, but mine never bit me!*

A pacu eats fruit and seeds in the wild,so try not to look fruity or seedy and you should be OK.
Pacus are vegetarian cousins of the Piranhas and their teeth are like molars instead of incisors. If a Pacu were to get a bite on a finger I'm sure there would be bone crushing involved,although the finger might not be bitten cleanly off,it would certainly be damaged.
One other item,Pacus are delicious. In Brazil they fillet them and grill them on open coals,squeeze on a little lime juice and enjoy.

Yes pacu's bite. They bite each other, they bite other fish, and if they are hungry/interested they will bite you. The easiest way to avoid this is by putting something in between your hand and the fish when you are moving things around in the tank. And they are not always vegitarians. It seems that they have an interest with green terrors becuase anytime I add them together, I only find the heads of the terrors.

what i do is when theyre small like that when you do water changes move around the decorations a little bit it gives him something to look at and explore and it gets him used to you bieng there i have had one that thought it was a cat and blew bubbles when he wanted me to pet him and yes he let me
just a heads up i keep single pacus in a 200 gallon tank
