A basket can hold 288 sheets of paper. Its .25 of the way filled. How many papers are there? Please help with this i'm stuck

To the first person who answered, I divided and kept ending up with 1152...so how'd you get 42?

All you have to do is multiply the two numbers togethe to get the answer. Imagine if the basket was filled entirely, so you would have 1 instead of .25, and you would have 288 sheets of paper. Therefore, any time it's not filled the whole way, you have less and less sheets of paper with the lower it is filled. So it makes sense when you multiply 288 and .25.

The wording of the question is a little weird, but I assume .25 means 1/4 (one quarter).

1/4 x 288 = 72

288 sheets = 100% but the basket is only 25% full...
0.25 x 288 = 72 sheets
