Would you reccomend this book? Do you think it is considered/should be considered a classic? It's classified as Adult Fantasy. Is that just because it's a fantasy novel for adults or does it have explicit content? Would you say the writing style/plot was gothic/dark in anyway?

No idea what that book is, but I would recommend "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman - in that, there is a character named 'Mr. Wednesday'

The novel is a blend of Americana, fantasy, and various strands of ancient and modern mythology, all centering on a mysterious protagonist, Shadow.

The book follows the adventures of ex-convict Shadow upon his early release from prison (there is an explicit scene relating to this). He is hired by the mysterious Mr. Wednesday to act as an escort and bodyguard, and travels across America visiting Wednesday's colleagues and acquaintances. Gradually, it is revealed that Wednesday is an incarnation of ____________ (not to give it away). Wednesday is recruiting American manifestations of the Old Gods of ancient mythology, whose powers have waned as their believers have decreased in number, to participate in an epic battle against the New American Gods, manifestations of modern life and technology (e.g. the internet, media, & modern means of transport).

Very highly recommended. The book won the 2002 Hugo, Nebula and Bram Stoker awards, all for Best Novel.

This is a great book if you want to ponder the meaning of evil in God's universe. Thursday sends his agent to foil terroists who, of course, were sent out by Thursday. Is Thursday God? Then what. This is the old, how can we believe in God if there is so much evil in the world stuff. If debating this is your idea of a good read, than this book is for you.l

The Man Who Was Thursday is THE original 1984, but with deeper allegorical and symbolic meanings. Not enough people read it today.
