It started last year, when a person came to my school and forgets to close his locker and one time, I forgot to close my locker and now I have to keep checking if I closed it or not. And I always do. Even when I look at it after closing it, when I walk away, I always have to look back and check. How do I stop? I'd like to treat it at home because it only happens with lockers. Thank you. By the way, I think it's an early sign of OCD.

I can't get a lock for my locker because that's against school rules and I worry about it because people at this school steals. At least some of them anyway. Is there any way to help me quit this habit?

It sounds as if there is something valuable in your locker, or at least something that you cherish. Consider removing anything you would be afraid to lose, or get stolen from you, and you might stop worrying about your locker so much. by the way, diagnosing yourself with this disorder is going to make you start believing that you have it (like a woman who wants to be pregnant so badly that her body is tricked into believing it is pregnant). Lay off the disorders for a while and remember that you are a special person no matter what. You do NOT need a disorder to get attention or to make you "unique." The doctors will just capitalize off of your fake disorder for the rest of your life.

i guess i had this problem in highschool i guess
anyway do not leave things you might get mad if it gets tsolen in your locker
Like your cellphone no matter even if a teacher says leave it in your locker unless theirs a test going on
Carry it with you
3 things to make sure to carry with you and not leave in your locker
keys,wallet/purse, and cellphones
to answer the question make sure your locker is usually empty and leave most of your stuff at home . so that way your just bringing stuff to school you need. So its not laying in your locker and you wont always have the worry to check because most of the items will either be with you or you will be about to get it

I am not a doctor but it does sound a little ocd. I have the same tendencies and sometimes fear it is ocd. Personally I would just make sure I don't keep anything valuable in my locker and walk away. Eventually you make break the cycle. Try not to let it bother you. Good luck.

Just make sure somehow you closed your locker. Like write it down or something. But hey, at least you have a locker, my team in school doesn't get ours until november even though everyone else has them but our school's so overcrowded we have to carry around like 6 full 2 inch binders plus books until then.

That's so weird... I just finished reading this book about a girl with OCD. Anyway, when you're thinking about checking your locker, think about something else, or start chatting with your friends to get your mind off of it.

Yeah this sounds like some sort of OCD for sure. Not normal to worry about your locker that much.

in the journey that your locker has a take care of which you raise as a fashion to open the locker make confident it quite is down on an analogous time as dialing interior the mixture. each and every from time to time if the take care of is up the lock isn't consumer-friendly to instruct. Likewise, if it quite is a mixture lock with a shackle do no longer pull down on the lock on an analogous time as you dial interior the mixture.

I don't think it is "an early sign of OCD." Typically OCD manifests itself in more ways than one. It is merely a paranoia. Relax and trust yourself. Make a conscious effort to focus when you close your locker. -s

im not suprised you do that, noone likes having their stuff taken, expecally school work and books and stuff,so I can see the need to worry,so what you do is when you lock it,make sure the lock is on it and give it a firm tug, then your locker should be locked securily, and it your lock breaks I suggest you take like a shoe lace and tie it threugh the hole where the lock was before,if there is one,it sometimes works, depending on how inconspicous it happns so be.

That's odd.
At my school we MUST have lockers or we're suspended.
Just before you turn away, make sure it's closed. Push it a little.
Then leave.
I doubt it's OCD, I mean, OCD isn't just worrying too much about one thing.
