the EU is already the 1st economic power, but not by far from the US. but the problem is that the 27 countries of the union do not always agree together. but maybe at one point, it will happen.

If the European Union were a state in the USA it would belong to the poorest group of states. France, Italy, Great Britain and Germany have lower GDP per capita than all but four of the states in the United States. In fact, GDP per capita is lower in the vast majority of the EU-countries than in most of the individual American states. This puts Europeans at a level of prosperity on par with states such as Arkansas, Mississippi and West Virginia. Only the miniscule country of Luxembourg has higher per capita GDP than the average state in the USA. The results of the new study represent a grave critique of European economic policy. No. Many people believe that the EU is very powerful. In actuality it is quite weak and falling backwards the ones we must fear are the Chinese. They are the up and coming - not the EU. On the other hand the chinese currency is crap while the Euro is jsut barely above the dollar last I check....the dollar might by strong at the time I type this but I'm not sure.

No, because long-term the EU countries aren't going to be able to put aside each of their own priorities and concerns for the good of the EU.

The EU won't dominate the US, but it will influence the US.

As I recall that was their intention when they all went to the Euro. However, it didn't work. The who scheme was devised by the hostile French, who haven't been nothing but a pain ever since we saved them from Hitler.
