I like the way you handle this! In the past, I've just said, "Hang on a minute", then left the room for about 10 minutes. Nothing is worse than being ignored when someone wants attention!

I start carrying on a conversation with them and telling them how rude they are for just breathing, & not talking. Then I offer to call 911 for them so they can go to the hospital.
They usually hang up before I really get started.

My grandparents used to keep a policeman's traffic whistle by the phone. Any telemarketer or prank calls got an earful. They'd just blow the whistle right into the phone.

I havent had any of those for a long time....I think the advent of caller ID put an end to it. But like you, I did mess with a couple of them by breathing back at them....lol....

Oh those are my favorites! The only heavy breather phone calls I ever get are from a ummm friend, and well, they are intended to be "heavy breather phone calls". hehehe....

i did that once, i was running to get the phone, because it was like 5 minutes before my mom left work, and i wanted her to bring me something, and i ran up the stairs and down the hall, into the entry, and then to the kitchen to get the phone, and i was really out of breath, and then i called her, and then the answering machine picked up, and then i was breathing really heavy, and i forgot to press the end button! there was like a minute of heavy breathing on her answering machine that next morning.

Mufug quit when the cops caught him in the act and busted him. Freak used to do that to my youngest daughter until I called both the phone company and the cops and their investigation enabled them to tap the sumbidges's phone....

I usually just put the phone down and walk away and leave it off the hook for quite a long time so their line is tied up until mine hangs up.

Please! you need to hang up. How do you know that some nut didn't get your number and maybe knows where you live. You should be very careful. I would never mess with someone like that.Could be very dangerous. I pray you learn something from this. God Bless.
