Because most people that answer questions in Yahoo Answers are basically stupid. Don't ask a question that requires too much thought, too much reading, or too much thinking. "Yes" and "No" answers are always good for 2 points anyway.

I've seen some intelligent answers here at Y/A both (R) & (D).
Let's face it though, many people come here to vent, many come to instigate, some come to voice opinions that they want confirmed, many think it's just a fun past time. There are people who do want to engage in actual bipartisan politics though that's getting harder to discern and usually those people correspond with me by e-mail rather than by posting their answers on the Y/A board.
I know that sometimes it gets frustrating and can raise your blood pressure at some of the totally asinine questions and answers here.....but c'est la vie (that's life)!
I think that intelligent questions have the fewest answers because alot of people are looking for the most thumbs up they can get and answer as quickly as possible or they don't really have an intelligent answer but want to get a partisan 'lick' in.
Again, let's face it, we are all 'keyboard warriors' here. If we had all the answers to all of the questions we should be movers and shakers in D.C. Right???
There's so much to address. Who could be so well versed in it all?
I try the best I can though!
Have an Excellent weekend!=)

Typing away whilst last nameless, looks to deliver out the very worst in some individuals. whilst on the only hand this is a healthful thank you to vent, on the different, those searching for intense solutions locate little or no to make a call from. whilst confusing, it nevertheless serves the community to maintain asking honorable questions. there are a number of members accessible, on the two aspects of each undertaking, with considerate solutions. as long as there's a place and the prospect for them to respond, your efforts are no longer a waste of time.

It seems as if most people on YA are pretty polarized in their politics and are on here to vent. I think there are some who are very particular about what questions they answer and they are likely to be more moderate and have deeper thoughts than the average poster who is looking for points. I think most knowledgeable people have more productive things to do with their time but get on here once in a while to attempt to shed some light on controversial issues.

Simply because people here are looking for high-fives from their supporters instead of trying to answer actual questions that have value. They go for the most extreme questions and answer them just for the kicks.

Well, intelligent questions in this section of YA and others are generally overlooked, because people enjoy being able to do a simple search in a search engine (Google or Yahoo for example) or be able to look it up in Wikipedia and get an instantaneous answer.
Thought provoking questions create doubt about beliefs, and I don't think many people like that.

could it be that many intelligent people actually have a life outside YA? i know, that's hard to believe, but it is possible. and i find that a lot of people really do try to give thoughtful answers if they think the question deserves it. maybe you should join Mensa. or, if you have, maybe you should take your intelligent questions there. YA frustrates me no end sometimes too, but maybe we sometimes expect too much of it?

"Conservative Liberal Conservative Liberal Bush Clinton Reagan Conservative Liberal"
Use these words with a verb somewhere in between to get the most responses. What annoys me is if you look through best answers, people that ask low percentile questions just give it to people that tell them how right they are. Conservative liberal Iraq?

Intelligent questions make the heads of many participant's explode. Therefore, the word to the un-wise is for them to avoid tough questions.

Some of us prefer the philosophical type questions over the questions about specific people, places and things.
I have observed that on this forum that all users' opinions are equal and that no special credentials are needed or even wanted. So vent at will, everyone else does.
