Sounds like there's upper eschelon of the military that don't agree with the General or his assertions either!

Shouldn't something as important as what's going on in Iraq and Afghanistan have been presented by several voices of authority and not just 2??

That was very interesting. How many Generals and officials have been dismissed or retired when they did not agree with Bush's ideas and plans?

I don't admire a leader that does not do what is best for the good of his unit or the country in any way, but we must admit that he is not entirely stupid.

Many commanders were relieved of command for not providing the leadership in Viet Nam that would protect their troops.

I was asked to provide information to relieve one commander who was doing a good job, but instead showed he was doing a good job and changed the system country wide. That did not make me very popular with the some of those over me.

I spent 21 years in the military and usually did and said what was best, but observed many cases where others gave in to the boss. My actions were not good career choices, but could not do otherwise.

I like how they didn't quote any sources directly. Please - if that was really verifiable, don't you think the mainstream media would have jumped all over it? On the other hand, I can directly quote LCDR Scott Miller from CENTCOM Public Affairs who said that the Admiral and the General have a good relationship (see Blackfive). The fact that this story is only spreading through left wing blogs - HuffPo and Daily Kos and the like - shows that it's just junk. However, even if the story were true, there's a difference between calling Petraeus a traitor and calling him an a$$ kissing chicken sh**, especially when one is coming from a left wing organization who disagrees with him politically and the other is from his superior who actually knows him. And just for the record, though Admiral Fallon is the General's superior, Petraeus is the one with experience in Iraq and training in counterinsurgency. I'd take his word over Admiral Fallon's opinion any day.

Yes, it's funny how the Bush administration leave the Admiral out of the picture. Fallon is coming out and becoming very vocal about Petraeus. Wonder how much longer Fallon will be an Admiral. Not long I bet.

Well, let's all jump all over Admiral Fallon, huh ? I'm guessing he didn't become an Admiral based on just his good looks.
Unfortunately, Admiral Fallon will probably be relieved of his command soon, since he seems to dislike Bush's boy.

:-o

How come his speech was not known by the president but had allot of the same terminology in it? He read the speech given to him by the white house. So his first statement was a lie.

Ah right, I guess General Petraeus is the next target to be slandered since he actually pointed out some hopeful things in Iraq?

Some people are good judges of character, I thought Bush was an idiot in 2000, and I have been proven to be right, time and time again.

Admiral Fallon must have known that General Petraus was going to become General Betray us and support King George's plan to stay in Iraq.

Makes sense, that's why Petraeus got the the job.

The general is in charge of Iraq, not the admiral. Sounds like the later of the two is jealous.....happens a lot in the military.

yes!!! and i find it amazing that his name was barely mentioned in the mainstream media.

i have a lot of respect for Admiral Fallon because he knows what he's talking about and he doesn't kiss no one's behind.
