I want to attend the Respiratory Therapist Program after I graduate high school next year in state, but the closet college that has the program is about an hour away from home, it's in a really small town that doesn't have any on campus housing or apartments. Is it unrealistic to travel an hour away to school? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

I commuted about 50 minutes (one-way) to college cause it was free to live with my dad. I did it for 2.5 years - I used the time in the car to think about what I had learned in my classes - a mental review if you will. You just have to be motivated and try to find a way to spend the time productively. Hope this helps!

No. One of my colleagues has to travel three hours to get to work every day, and for those of us living in the city, even a short commute can take that long during rush hour. If this is what you want to do, go for it. Maybe you can concentrate your classes on a few days so that you don't have to be on campus five days a week.

I commute to college three times a week, although I have an option to drive I prefer to take public transport, it helps me relax and also do my reviews and assignments before or after class, in the train and when i am bored i just listen to music, study while ur mind is still fresh with the class. I would recommend you to take public transport maybe take monthly pass which will cost u less. Good luck

Not if you're willing to do the drive everyday and you can afford the costs of traveling (gas, extra wear & tear on your car, etc).
