Well, if you have ONE address, you have ONE device only and you need at least two devices to have or even need a network.

Now that is just a guess but from your question it seems to be the only possible answer unless there is more to the question.
In most networks there are a lot more than two logical addresses but if you have a "network" of two devices, each one will have to have a logical address.

Not sure exactly what you're asking for. Are you speaking of an IP address and a default gateway? Loopback address? LAN and WAN address? I would need more info. before I could answer the question.
