In looking at the director's story about the making of the film. He was from Tennessee and he loved music. And he knew guys from his home town like the character in the movie.(the one the white guy played). who did the soundtrack. And he saw a girl looking out of the window of a car a pimp was driving one day with braids looking bored. (While the guy was trying to sell her to him). I think he and Justin Timberlake were from the same town. That is how he got him interested in doing Black Snake Moan.
