In a science project, my partner and I want to place first and do the best we can. We like complicated projects, but the materials must not be too expensive!, and we are very good in math and science and willing to take any challenge.
To place first, we need a very very cool, complicated, but understandable project. What do you think should be a suggestion?

NOTE: whoever puts the project that we like and/or qualifies on all the requirements get TEN points and two thank yous! :]

P.S. We are 8th graders but provide us with a project with challenge. Thanks.

the project for collecting the data can take up to as much as one month. math, science as said in the question are our faves. any science is okay as long as it`s fulfills the requirements. thanks

& our teacher told us we can get help from others like the procedures, materials, but the explanation is pretty much on our own. thank you.

Our teacher RECOMMENDS us to get help from others for the materials & procedures but not the explanations.
sorry, deena, but that's how it works.

You could try some basic digital electronics. The chips are quite inexpensive and easy to buy at electronics stores. Your school might have a power supply and breadboard that you can use.

Digital electronics uses logic gates, that work on simple rules like and, not, or etc. I would recommend that you go through the logic principles, do a little bit on binary counting, and try to build an asynchronous clock using JK flip flops (google this and you shoudl find a circuit diagram).

This is a good project that I have seen win awards before. You will have to be willing to study something that is not in your core curriculum though.

There once was a lady Who was said to be fair matey When she left the town To be miss queen who was crowned Showed off her skills Although the people weren't so thrilled It must be a trick Even though she used sticks And a hair from her head Dust from under her bead She thought to be exact One two three attack And when she disapeared all these things They were put to where'd they begin So now you wonder why It was all under discised But even she didn't know Until the lady appeared with a crow She said it was just a mess You weren't supposed to be with the crest So she wasn't supposed to be the queen no more But she already married the guy before He wasn't the real king He was a guy looking for a chick to swing... Start by thinking about the kind of science that interests you, and some part of it that intrigues you. No one else can tell you that. You'll find people here willing to help you, but we can't do it for you.

Perhaps if you really want to place first, you and your partner can get off to a great start at your local library where you can come up with your OWN ideas and data collection.

You both really need to do your own homework.
