I do that too lol. Maybe people think if you press harder then it'll send the signal no clue lol. I also hit the remote like it's going to send a charge to the batteries or something.

Because the remote broke the last time I hurled it at the telly, and the battery cover is now stuck on with duck tape. There's another option?

I do that to begin with but then I'm forced to take the batteries out and rub them together then replace them and try again.

same reason we hunt for said control when missing, for what seems like an eternity, rather than just get up and change channel manually! its the way it is!!...lol.
