Personally my favorite part of the pledge. The whole thing is nice though.
However, in my school a majorty of kids dont say the pledge. Some I think are lazy, but the others...
I know that you have the freedom to choose to say it or not, but in the middle of war-time? Show some support!

I know quite well that Ike added it to spite the communists.
Which I have absolutly no problem with.
But you could show a little respect by AT LEAST standing, maybe just to rember those who died to give you a right to keep quiet.

Hahaha.
I am a Christian and I refused most of the time to say that part in the pledge or say the pledge at all.
All nations are equal in God's eyes. All nations are under God...not just America.
The Lord told us to love our enemies. I don't think we can love them by firing bullets at their foreheads or shooting rockets off that totally obliterate any sign of life in a target area.
This war is a waste of time. Waste of lives. Waste of money. I am so sick of America and its ignorance. "One nation under God" This nation is falling apart. The libs are kicking God out of this country...and the republicans are just acting so ignorant about this war. No wonder terrorists hate our God.

Kids who dont do it its their choice it doesent make them unamerican by blood but maybe by spirit. IF you felt the true call of the spirit of being American you would stand without question....not because your told to but because you honor your country and respect those that have died and fought to put us where we are today. Weather the pledge is under God or anything else.....the blood of our soldiers and people is always the same.

I think that ANYONE who is in this country enjoying our freedoms and benefits, yet refuses to pledge allegiance to it, should be on the first leaky paddle boat to a 3rd world country.

Amen, it's my favorite part too!!
It's such a sad shame that so many have turned against the very One that can set them free from the bondage of sin.
The very One that can bring peace, in a time of turmoil, and Tyranny.
I thank God for the sacred honor of our freedom that is only possible through Him.

I would say it without that ridiculous 'Under God' part. Congress only put it in there because of the communism scare years ago. It wasn't always in the Pledge.

Which God? Are they all the same. No religon will tell you so. Every religion thinks their God is the only God which Is why we have so many wars.

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands; one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all."
I remember it and I will never forget it.
angelwith4faces; if that's your angle, then realize that the human race has been killing in the name of God for millenia; from the Israelites in the days of the bible to the Europeans during the Crusades to the Nazis in WW2 (Pope Pius anyone?). If we Americans are guilty of that crime by merit of the word "Under God" in our Pledge of Allegiance, then all human beings in this planet are guilty of the same crime.

Did you miss the part about the inquisition in the 6th grade?
Did you not ever read Thomas Jefferson?
Did you know where the phrase came from? What decade it was put in (hint: 1950's).
Do you find it ironic that Bin Laden and his friends are praying for god to help them win the war too, and every person they kill they do in god's name. Do you support the killing of Iraqis in god's name too?
Don't you find it the height of arrogance that you think you know that God's will is? Particularly in wartime?

Just think, I served in the Navy and was "In-Country" in 1969 for you jerks.
You should love your country but I suppose you are too busy watching MTV and listening to those wonderful lyrics by your rap stars.
