Liberal teachers there will make him wish he were never born. They will give him poor grades even if undeserved, if he expresses conservative values. DON'T DO IT. I have heard too many horror stories of good students abused by faculty at liberal dominated campuses.

I haven't been to Berkeley, so I don't know. If he stays away from the pie throwing, he might turn out okay.
I own a Subaru. It's a great car.
ADDED: On the other hand, these other answers tell me I'm out of touch. Maybe not Berkeley.

They'll probably diagnose him with half a dozen disorders and insist he goes on half a dozen perscription drugs as well. Claiming they will treat his mental disorders, their real intention is to put him in a zombie-like alpha state making him more sensitive to hypnotic suggestion. The result will be a flaming liberal who swallows whole the concepts of socialism, global warming, bisexuality, drug use, and all around debauchery.

Seriously, Berkley, like most Ivy League universities are very politically influenced; it'll be very hard not to be influenced by either political group; hell, most teachers will be bias to one side or the other and it will be very hard not to be seduced.
The key would be for him to maintain his own opinion and not to be influenced by either side if anything that he hears is not compatible to whe he already knows is right.

anyways i had to answer this because of the subaru part. i think that IS HILARIOUS. my boyfriend and I hate subarus! we always associate them with liberal hippies.... and i haven't heard anyone else make that association. very funny :)

Oh, please I hope you're being facetious. Berkely isn't bad nor are they going to indoctrinate your child. There is a lot of different opinions on campuses from the left and right. I go to a Catholic college (not because of its religion but its good reputation) and I see a lot of students from different political orientations. Don't worry about him, Berkeley is an excellent school I hope he gets in.
