When people first began talking about Fred Thompson entering the Presidential race, most of Romney's people thought that if he got in that Romney would pretty much be gone, because the front runners would be the more well known Giuliani, McCain, and Thompson. But Thompson delayed entering, McCain fell behind, and Romney pushed ahead, especially in Iowa and New Hampshire. Now Thompson is in, he's tied with Giuliani, (19-19), McCain's just a few points behind (15) and Romney's down to 7.

I don't think so. Romney has much more money than Thompson and he has strong organizations in Iowa and New Hampshire. Romney has visited SC recently and he has won over some voters. I see Romney doing very well in Iowa and New Hampshire, and placing among the top four in SC. He will get enough moment to knock off McCain and Thompson and all that will be left for Romney is to knock off Guiliani who won't get the nomination. Rudy is just not acceptable to religious conservatives.

My pick is that Romney will win the Repub nomination.

the republicans are in a mess thats for sure -- don't see anyone leading -- its kind of like giving the presidency away to someone else.

i don't think thompson has much lasting power though -- just for right now he seems better than giuliani -- and i guess he probably might be.

its really kind of hard for a party that was all about not flip flopping 4 years ago to run people like thompson, romney, and giuliani and be taken seriously. i think if mccain were still alive he would probably have a lot bigger lead.

when is ron paul going to leave the party and kick butt and take names? thats going to be fun.

As much as I really like Rudy G I think America will lean more toward Fred Thompson. Rudy has a lot of baggage that concerns Americans but the man did an absolutely awesome job with 9/11

Fred Thompson along with John McCain are nice old guys but they have to take naps and go to bed early. Being President of the US requires a 24 / 7 commitment.

Thompson, the man Nixon called "dumb", and who was feeding Nixon information from the Committee he was on investigating Watergate. He even leaked Special Prosecutors information to Nixon, and was groomed by Nixon's attorney as to what to ask on the committee!

Thompson should never be president. Where he should be is in jail!

Many people were waiting for Thompson to toss his hat into the ring - he obviously has a good shot at the nomination.

The only reason Thompson is even competing is because your radio talk show host heroes want him.. He wouldn't even be on the board otherwise..
