I wouldn't put too much stock in that whole contacts bit.

Some people put me in their contacts and I do answer some of their questions -- but sometimes I'm not on-line when they ask a question and by the time I get the e-mail that they've asked a question I feel like too many hours have gone by. Also, there are questions that they ask that I don't feel like I'm qualified to answer or I just don't have any frame of reference to give them any insight. I don't feel that I'm slighting them and I really don't think you should take that as an insult. I've only ever asked one question and the only answers I got were really wise cracking and insulting - and the question was about the price of gasoline so it wasn't a question you would think would draw such crazy answers. It takes all kinds I guess and there are lots of them here!

Maybe they don't answer because the questions aren't something they CAN answer. I receive notification of contacts' questions, and I answer the ones I feel confident in responding to; but, a number of them are about topics I know nothing about~rap/hip hop for example. So, I don't post an answer. Also, if it's something someone can look up on the Net quite easily, I don't answer.
Not all questions end up being answered; I pass many of them because I don't know HOW to answer. Maybe they feel the same way.

Some just can't keep up with all the contacts they have. I have had to learn I can' t answer every question and now try to make sure I answer a couple from each contact. There are times I don't even get to their questions until the next day.

Hi pet, perhaps your contacts are like me. I rarely answer any of my contacts questions in case they think they have to play at nepotism and give me the best answer all the time. I know a heck of a lot of people on here only ever give them to their friends and I am afraid to say I disagree with that practise.

Hey, even though someone's my contact, I'll only answer their questions if I have any idea what they're talking about. I love to answer questions, but if a contact asked a question I had no idea about and answered it anyway, I'd look like a stupid person desperate for points.

I'm new to answers, but I agree with what most of the others have written. I have one person thats asked for me to be her contact. Usually if I see something I think I can help with I just jump in. You can add me if you want.

I know w/ my contacts; if I cannot think of an answer that will prove to be helpful then I don't answer, I guess I figure someone can help better then I can

Dont know darl I answer all my contacts questions and they answer mine. We have a little running commentary going, its fun. You could try changing categories and widen out in your answers and contacts. Try the society and culture groups and dare I say it, the seniors section. You dont have to be one you know. They are a great lot, very friendly.
Happy Y!A ing.
