Why wouldn't we want God to bless America in this time of political turmoil going on in this country? We need all of God's blessings that we can receive.

I agree. Lets try this slogan: Bird bless America. No that just does not sound right. I know, Hamster bless America. Nooo that does not ring a good tone either. My little brain is working here, I got it, we will change it completely around to something different like: "We Americans hate ignorance and are superior". That sounds good (better than Hamster Bless America) but I think it is a little to long for a slogan. I know, "We Americans hate Everyone and have swell Atheist". That's Perfect as it is to the point and has no hidden agendas. Do you not agree?

No it is not.
It gives people the wrong impression about God and it turns them away from Him.
Here we are shooting and bombing people who are as equal as we are in God's eyes...and we have the nerve to make our slogan 'God Bless America'
I want God to bless America, but in return, I want us to follow Gods commands to the best of our ability...like when he said 'love your enemies'...I don't think we can love them while dropping dirty bombs all over the battlefield.

AAAHHHHH !!!! Mister / Senor / Herr, you do know how to pizz off a liberal !!! Be very cautious though, the lefty's will claim you are violating their "mental 'dis' abilities" and report you as a Communities Guidelines violator !!!!!!!!
GOD BLESS AMERICA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Remember when the lefty's, aka 'politically correct ones" wanted to remove "UNDER GOD" from the Pledge of Allegiance???
GOD knows that the vast majority of Americans are NOT mentally challenged, and we will persevere against those lefty's / liberals.

I believe in God and I’m a Christian and I think that the phrase is being misused in an arrogant, chauvinistic and basically unChristian manner. It’s a slogan and a catch phrase that seems to have nothing to do with sincere feelings of invoking God’s blessing. It’s more of an in-your-face taunt to indicate that others as not as patriotic or as godly as the person who is using it pretends to be or almost as a challenge. I think people should not be using the Lord’s name in vain and overuse of the phrase in a purely political context renders it meaningless and flat and it sounds insincere.
