Is a great slogan, and offensive to none of consequence.

Your thoughts?

Thank you thomas for clarifying. Its one of my favorite prayers.

But if someone objects to me saying it, it matters to me not.

It is more then a slogan, and if you think it is only that then you have missed the point. Similarly if you think those who take offense are of no consequence you mis the point

God Bless America is a prayer. It is a plea on the part of a people for the continued hand of the Lord on our works and on our lives. If you forget it is a pray and make it a statement or a slogan then you have fallen to arrogance and pride and Pride is the sin which cost Lucifer God's Blessing.

God Bless America must always be a prayer and a plea for His Help. And if we want His help we can as a nation never lose sight of our better angels, that being the case we can dismiss No person as inconsequential because the glory of whom we are appealing to The Lord, falls on all weather we like them or not.

So while God Bless America is a wonderful prayer. It can never be a slogan ("Got Milk" is a slogan) and America can never find any person to not be of consequence

I hope that God will continue to bless America, but I'm afraid our country is on a slippery slope downward. Look at some of the answers to your questions - people saying that God does not exist. I pray that God will continue to bless America.

Congress in Washington opens each session with prayer by there own Chaplin, why can't the schools even mention the word GOD. When I went to grade school back in the 30's we read from the Bible each morning and had the Pledge of Allegiance, the passage from the Bible was always from the Old Testament.

Absolutely agree. Your nation needs all the bloody help it can because surely, most of the world's population at any one time are cursing and/or damning you.

I lived in the US for 2 years; I CHOSE to leave.

God Bless America! Thank God I live elsewhere

AMEN!!

Separation of Church and State means that the government can not dictate what you must believe, having the 10 Commandments on the wall of a court house is not advocating any religion, it is the basic laws of the land, God Bless America is not a statement advocating any religion, it is a motto.

Take God out of our country and we will wind up like all of the other 3rd world countries.

Atheists, you are free to disbelieve if you wish, funny though that freedom to disbelieve is a God given right.

What god do you worhsip? That is the first question. What if someone from Islam answers your question? Isn't that person praying to Allah?

If you ask me about the God I serve, then you will see that this is the same God that will judge the world.

So, the real question is this--are you ready for that judgement?

god bless america is a terrible slogan for the following reasons:

1) god does not exist

2) if god did exist, he should have nothing to do with the united sates government (who seem to be the people who use that phrase the most)

3) if god were blessing things, he would not bless an arbitrary collection of people like a country. america is full of terrible people, mixed in with the good ones. any concept of god worth worshipping would not reward those who don't deserve it.

the term 'offensive to none of consequence' is a statement which almost always shows the myopia of the person saying it.

i'm an american, apparently of no consequence, but god is blessing me anyway?

that makes positively no sense.

Fine with me. But Rico your statement is wrong. I figure any blessing this country receives is good. Lord knows we could use it.
