Run a tepid (warmish) bath and put him in it and, using a facecloth, gently squeeze water all over his body ............. poor little thing I jus hate it when children are sick.......... also give him lots of water to keep him hydrated and help keep his temp down. If all this fails get him to an Emergency room pronto as children will go into shock quite quickly if left to fever and dehydration.

GOOD LUCK

It's hard to know what to tell you without knowing how high is the fever, and how old is the child?

I've provided you a link to describe when you need to seek medical attention for a fever for kids. Read it and compare to the little one that you're watching.

If you need to do anything other than give the little one a warm/tepid bath and give them lots of water and juice or popcicles (not milk, pop or ice cream) then I suggest you call the parents to let them know what's going on.

Good luck!

Well, I've had a fever for a few days and the one thing that's really helped me is a warm bath, not hot not cold. Warm.
And while he is in the bath put a cold cloth over his forehead and eyes.. Keep an eye on him while he is in the bath so nothing happens.
Good luck and God bless!

Get over it, she's four! She's now not doing it on reason. She is used to haveing anybody else babysitting and can take time being used to you,(and your identify) and while you depart, the following babysitter may even have the equal concern, best she will likely be known as your identify.

Put a cool rag on the child's head, a luke warm bath usually helps and if the medicine is not helping depending on what you gave to the child you can rotate between tylenol and motrin. Also, try freezer pops. Hope this helps.

Put a cool wash cloth on his face. I would let the parents know what is going on. Did they give you a phone number you could call?

If you have given them medication and it hasn't worked you need to seek medical attention as children with fevers can have fits and it can cause severe damage....
