How can i get contacts?

okay well me and my friend need contacts do they sell the serperately like without perscription? because my friend tould me they do at walmart but i just wanna make sure before i go.
by the way color contacts.

without going to the eye doctor.

I thnk you need a prescription. Some Walmarts have optomitrists that sell them. Call first.

You can't buy contacts, even plano colored contacts, without a prescription. The reason is because you might have something like Astigmatism that will affect the type of contact you will need.
I have astigmatism and I am supposed to wear toric lenses (special made, and more expensive :'() But I only wanted to get plano colored contacts myself. I finally gave in and went to the doctor to get my eyes checked and they went ahead and let me buy the plano colors (since the only 4 toric colors on the market are disgusting). The problem is it makes my vision a little blurry, so I only wear them once in a while.

You can TRY ordering contacts online. All sites say they need to contact your eye doctor for a prescription, but some of them don't bother to check. That will be your only way around it unless you have a friend with a prescription that is willing to buy them for you.

Keep in mind, you don't HAVE to purchase contacts with a prescription in them, contact retailers just need to make sure you went go to the doctor before hand to make sure your eyes are OK (a liability thing). If you do go and any doctor says you CAN'T or that they wont let you buy plano contacts (contacts with no prescription in them), don't purchase anything for them, just take the piece of paper with your precription on it and walk out and buy online. Some people on here don't know what there talking about. You can get colored none prescription contacts almost anywhere they are really reasonable like$20.00 a pair. If you go to a Beauty Supply store I know they have them. They have all colors:
*Hazel
*Blue
*Green
*Grey

Going to the eye doctor is VERY IMPORTANT, if you don't get a prescription , well lets just say its not safe. Your eyes need to have enough water in them for contacts. If your eyes aren't able to use contacts, contacts can get stuck in your eyes, create a serious eye infection , ruin your eyesight, or which has RARELY occured, they make get stuck BEHIND your eyes. Yes OUCCHH , so maybe you should think about going to the eye doctor after all?

PS. - I have hazel contacts , and I got a prescription , and my doctor told me all this.

I believe Walmart might do that depending on which Walmart it is and if u know people who work there that can hook ya up with a pair.

You would have to go to the eye doctor. They shouldn't be expensive. But go to the eye doc. and then get your prescription and take it to walmart.

you absolutely positively cannot get any sort of contact without a doctors prescription. anyone who tells you differently on here is uneducated on the subject.

i don't know where you are from but here in the philippines, you don't need prescriptions to buy colored contacts, wether it is for reading or just an accessory. i know coz my sister just bought 3 pairs of different colored contacts when she came to visit and brought it back to japan with her.
