can anyone help please!
Velma jogs 1 lap around the track each day for two weeks. In the third and fourth weeks, she jogs 3 laps each day around the track. During the next two weeks, she runs 6 laps each day. During the fifth and sixth weeks, her goal is to jog 10 laps each day. If this pattern continues, how many laps will she run each day during the seventh and eighth weeks?

15 laps each day (the pattern is adding in consecutive numbers, first add 1, then 2, then 3, etc.)

week / laps
1 / 1
2 / 1
3 / 3
4 / 3
5 / 6
6 / 6
7 / ?
8 / ?
If this is right a pattern of +2 +3 +4 would fit
which means 10 laps in weeks 7,8
and 15 laps in weeks 9, 10
There may be other answers that would fit , if you post your answer you might get people to agree with you , or who can point out a mistake you made.

Velma would jog 15 laps because the first time you add 2, then you add 3, follow by 4, and then 5.
hope this helped =]

Weeks | laps per day
1 | 1
2 | 1
3 | 3
4 | 3
5 | 6
6 | 6
Then you have:
5 |10
6 | 10
If you have the third and fourth weeks accounted for and then the next two weeks would be the 5th and 6th. You already have the 5th and 6th weeks accounted for. Something is wrong in your equation.
If your pattern is 1,1,3,3,6,6,10,10...
then the next in the series would be 15,15
(it goes up 2, then 3, then 4, then 5)

(1 & 2) 2 w = 1 L
(2 & 3) 2 w = 3 L (+2)
(4 & 5) 2 w = 6 L (+3)
(6 & 7) 2w = 10 L (+4)
If her goal is 10, she made it at the 7th week.

The Answer is 15 because the the constant[number of laps it's going up by] is increasing by one every time. so by week 7 &8 you would have 15...
