I don't think they legally have to give him anytime off unless he has been working there for 12mths and has accrued holidays. It would be at their discresion, I think its cruel not to give him 5 days at least (that whole week).
My hubby only had a few days off when both of ours were born and I coped. Try and rally around some family or girlfriends to give you a hand with things for the first week. I feel sorry for you to be in that position but you may just have to make the best of it.
best of luck, and be confident that you will be able to cope if he does have to work.

If you are still in the probationary period, you are not entitled to the benefits other full time regular employees get. He should have an Employee Handbook that explains stuff like that. I know at my job, when I had my baby I took the entire 12 weeks off and it was unpaid, but I wouldn't have been eligible for that if I hadn't worked so many hours in the following year, wasn't a full time employee, and some other requirements. It also listed all of that in my employee handbook. So, even though it is unpaid, you will have to meet certain requirements to receive certain benefits.
Good luck.....

on an analogous time as this would possibly no longer help superb off the bat, i could recommend which you the two get a webcam for him to circulate to together with his dad on an analogous time as he's away. while i became working for the airlines, I knew a brilliant form of international pilots (who could be long previous from their residences 2 weeks a month) that would try this with their little ones. a 15 month previous baby is sufficiently previous to appreciate that once Daddy leaves, he's leaving for an prolonged time. this could have created an abandonment situation for him and he could be afraid dad won't come returned. The webcam ought to ease the transition.

i know at my husbands job he can take up to 2 weeks off, unpaid of course, once the baby comes.
it might be somthing to look into.
is he still getting paid from the military or somthing?
if he quits how will you pay for all the things the baby needs?
check into it and definatly figure somthing out because you are gonna want him there with you during those special moments.
congrats!!!

You can look into it, but I don't think you are going to have any luck because he is on the 90 day probation period. During this time he is not considered an "Full-Time Employee" so he doesn't get any benefits.

It's his priorities...If he really wants to be there for you he will. If he quits his job though, you may have to worry about finances with a baby almost here. I think the baby is more important than the job! But it's ultimately up to you two. good Luck

I thought that you had to be working somewhere for a year to be entitled to any kind of leave.
