75% of the countries in the world were growing faster than the US in 2005 (the latest data I found), and in the developing world some had growth in the double digits. China's latest growth rates are still over 10% and India 's over 7%. Even some of the African countries which were considered to be hopeless are doing better. The extreamly high growth rates can not continue indefinatly and if the US economy slows down it will have a drag on some other countries that depend on us for a market but it should be temporary. Well except for the manufacturing areas, Canada's economy is quite strong. The Canadian dollar , the Looney, is nearly paar with the American dollar, which from the business reports I've been hearing has been having quite the downfall lately. Canadian bankers are saying the looney may become stronger than the US dollar .

The high dollar does however effect tourism, from the US and elsewhere. However the Canadians love it as there are still some bargains we can get in the US.

Oil and gas revenues from Alberta and Newfoundland/Labrador are contributing to the higher looney.

Canadian housing isn't suffering the loss like American housing is.

Canada's just steaming along thank you.
