Just read the comments, questions, and opinions about all this. He has dragged the Patriots and the fans through the mud. I am not a Pat's fan, but I do love that a teams local fans especially rally behind them...it is one of the things that makes sports so much fun. As much as I detest what he did and especially his reaction in the press to it, I feel sorry for the Pat's fans having to defend this and the ire I am sure they feel inside for all this. Regardless of whether every team does it, whether Mangini is a cry baby...any of that...bottom line is he knew better and got caught. I feel for the fans and the players the most.

it stinks these past couple a days trying to defend this. Bill had done a good job and has made some mistakes but has won super bowls (at least i think) without cheating.

Bellichik feels shame only for having been caught doing what just about every other coach and team does on a regular basis. As for the 'slap on the wrist' as another responder wrote, i would say half a MILLION dollars is a lot more than a minor punishment. While i think it will tarnish Genius Bill's reputation, I still think he is a great coach who does ALMOST everything the right way. I would want him to be my coach!

there would be no way he would step down, wade wilson got suspended 5 games for taking a drug for his diabetes and belichick only gets a slap on the hand...BS!
