I heard this quote recently on the radio.
Sure it's cynical, but a cynicist's apology is that he's a realist.
I had to crack a grin when I heard it!
What do all you people in cyberland think?

Very true!

There is definitely forces out there working despite the wishes of the voters.

How do you explain Bush's apointment?

Most certainly not with his bright mind and his intellect!

Make what illegal? If you mean voting, then probably true. Voting changes nothing because you just get a different bunch of self-serving individuals with a different agenda. Then you have to pay their pensions (full salary after 2 years of being in Congress) and we go further in debt. We need a government overhaul. Vote for the individual and not because they are in a particular party.

Definately. I am an existantialist and for that matter, a realistic individual. Want a realistic example: let's look at Latin America. Most nations keep their "democratic" appearance to be on the US' good side. Voting in this country only wastes time.

It's a bumpersticker going back at least to the early 80's. While I agree with it, I think the radio show you listen to needs to update and credit their material.

President Bush would get rid of the Constitution and declare himself President for life, if he could get away with it. That is why voting is important, we need to get the neocons out of office, because they have already ruined this country.

I'm a cynic and a realist too.

I got a laugh out of this comment.

Very true, they can fix results, set up their opponents and steal elections. But they can't stop us from organizing , spreading the word and excercising our speech rights to express dissatisfaction. (and if they do, they'll have it coming!)

Sure they would!
Of course unless "they" changed it to make more effective for "their" benefit... "THEY" Suck morality out of politics, it was once a righteous approach to civilization and order!

...You know, those bastards that run the world in secrecy!

...Daddy's friends/colleagues gave Bush his job!

That is beyond cynicism -- it's a nihilist's comment
