I'm concerned about the newborn, I don't want him to get kicked when riding in the back! Is this a problem with Phil & Teds?

I highly recommend looking into the Valco Twin Runabout. I did a lot of shopping for a stroller and this one is just awesome! If you don't want to do a side by side, you can get the single Runabout and put a toddler seat on the front. I have the Twin with the toddler seat and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I looked at the Phil and Teds and just couldn't get over the back baby being nearly on the ground. YOu can find Valco for cheaper on ebay.

I love our Phil&Ted's.

Your newborn can't ride in the back. Not until 4 months or so. Until then, you fully recline the seat, and put the doubles seat on the front. In neither case will your newborn be kicked.

The Phil&Ted's is great on all kinds of terrain. It's easy to push with a single hand. It's easy to maneuver through crowds and narrow aisles. It's good in all kinds of weather.

It is NOT particularly light. And you have to sort of learn to fold it.

But I found a used one for much less than the Valco Runabout (which I also considered), and it was well worth every penny.

to the person who didn't know what the toddler seat thing was, cut and paste this into your address bar and check it out. They are the handiest ones you'll find."

I think Phil and teds are great because you can put the attachment on the front for the older child and the baby is in the pram part or baby on the back and toddler in pram seat.
Very versitile and worth buying. Very lightweight too!

I too love my Phil & Ted. My DS is 2 and a half and DD is 4 months so she is only just now sitting up in the back seat (mind you sometimes I stick her in the front if I know DS is going to be getting in and out!)
They are so versatile and come with excellent accessories such as side paneers, mud guards and a handbag for the handles.
Check out their website, I actually bought mine of ebay for half the price of a brand new one and it was in great condition.

I was looking at the question and was wondering on those valco strollers the first person was talking about, do you attach an infant car seat to it with the toddler attchment in the front. How does it work with a new born and toddler seat?

You do need a double stroller, my suggestion would be to not spend much for it. I did get a side by side combi used at a garage sale for 40 dollars. It may not be exactly what you want, but you can't beat the price.
