Heck no. I'd rather struggle (like I am). I make good money but it's never enough. But you know what? I'm home by 2:45 each day and can spend the rest of the evening with my kids and husband or family & friends.

If I could only have one or the other... and accepting one would forever deny me the other - then I'd rather struggle to get by and have lots of time to devote to my family.

Otherwise, I'd take the work-hard & earn LOTS of money for a few years... THEN quit & have that bank-roll to make my life easier when I've got the family to take care of.

I work 4 nights on then have 4 nights off. So I work 37 hours in 4 nights, then have 3 and 1/2 days off (after readjusting to day time). It is a good balance.

I did try training to be a school teacher but it was long hours, work, work, work. So decided it was not for me.

But - I do have admiration for school teachers, and they are dedicated to what they do.

I'd rather make just enough to have a nice house and car (nothing major) and be able to spend plenty of time with my wife.

What's the point in making lots of money but not being able to spend it through working 8 days a week? lol

I have a colleague who only sees his wife and kids every 2nd weekend of each month for £70k a year - That's not for me!

I work to live, not live to work...

But i do enjoy my job, and could get more money working in the private sector for my role and responsibilities but dont want to..

I prefer to do a job i enjoy to allow me to keep my shift pattern and benefits and to be off doing my out of work activities...

Money is not everything...
