Visit your states department of revenue or secretary of state corporations division website. Most these days have databases available to search by name, partial name, business name etc. Finding him in a corporation is a bit tougher especially depending on where you are and how much you are willing to spend. TX for instance charges to obtain the names of people associated with corporations, nice eh? Most however at least provide a search by officer or registered agent name, so if your guys has made himself any of those and filed as a corp you have some chance. Much easier if he is a DBA though. If you suspect a particular biz type that may require a license you can also check your locations dept of licensing by name, some places make the info public and some do not, most do. If all else fails and you have some cash there are many investigative services specializing in locating all there is to know on a person in a tidy little package.

MORGAN M. had some great ideas. You might also try the County Assessor's office. I just called them today, to confirm someone owned the business; however, I was told by the courts if they do not own the land that the business is one I really have no recourse with my judgment. If you do find another option (if they are a business owner) PLEASE let me know. All the courts told me I can do...Maybe...is an Abstract of Judgment. Good luck with your case.

Some business are required to register with the city or town in which they are located. Check with your city or town clerk's office. You might try some of the people finder sites, and see what turns up. You could also follow the person, and see if he goes to a business, and works there. Once you find him working, then check to see if he owns the business.
