Try Libba Bray's series, which at the moment consists of the books "A Great and Terrible Beauty," which is first in the trilogy, and "Rebel Angels." I have just finished these myself, and am eagerly anticipating the release of the final installment, due December 26th. The series is somewhat Harry Potteresque, in the respects that it is about discovering magical abilities while at a boarding school, but the main character is a girl and it is set in Victorian England (1895). The heroine begins to see visions on her 16th birthday, and is sent to an all-girls' school, where she and her friends discover and rebuild an ancient and powerful society.
'Bad Girls' by Alex McAuley. It is about an undisciplined teenage girl who is sent to a wilderness survival camp by parents who hope to reform her wild ways. Things go badly astray during a hike through the jungle of the remote Caribbean island it is located on, and the heroine finds herself forming cliques and fighting for survival in the wilderness.
The Inheritance novels by Christopher Paolini ('Eragon' and 'Eldest') are wondrous adventures to delve into, as is Tolkien's 'The Hobbit' and 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy.
A great classic is 'Wuthering Heights' by Emily Bronte. It's a fantastic example of a Gothic novel, with tragic romance and grief written in. Heathcliff and Catherine make one of literature's everlasting couples. Another great classic, if you have the time for it, is Margaret Mitchell's 'Gone With the Wind,' as well as its sequel, 'Scarlett,' by Alexandra Ripley. Every girl should read about Scarlett O'Hara and her fiery independence.
'Uglies,' 'Pretties,' and 'Specials' by Scott Westerfeld. The story follows a teenage girl named Tally who lives in a futuristic city where people are called Uglies until their sixteenth birthday, when they are given surgery to transform them into glamorous Pretties. The point of this operation is to stop wars and disagreements among people just because they look differently from each other, and it is later discovered that the operation gives people brain-damage, eliminating disputes, anger, unhappiness, or a desire to be different.
Another powerful book is 'Crank' by Ellen Hopkins. It is a semi-autobiographical verse novel chronicling the turbulent and often disturbing relationship between Kristina, a character based on Hopkins' own daughter, and the "monster," the highly addictive drug crystal meth, or "crank." While under the influence of the monster, Kristina discovers her sexy alter-ego, Bree, who will do all the things good girl Kristina won't.

A fair few- I can't throw them away. As many as I can read. I love books- I would like to have enough to fill one of those walls made of just books. I don't really buy expensive books- I usually get them second hand from Ebay or charity shops. My favourite book is Howls Moving Castle- it is witty, I adore the characters and because it is so familiar to me now- it is comforting so I read it when I am ill or feeling down. I know its kind of a kid book but I think its lovely. Boudica - Dreaming the Serpent by Manda Scott. I have read the other three and this is the last one. I love this series and I can't wait to get a copy. Fantasy- I just like to get away from this world for a while and forget about the bad and even the good of this life adn consider what it would be like somewhere else. If I wanted to learn about the reality of this world or life then I could just watch the news.

Um, try the Percy Jackson series. And the Faerie War Chronicles if your into a bit more sci. fiction stuff. Also try the Children of the Lamp series, though its probably a bit young for teens (I'm 13) and the Eragon/Eldest books.Oh, and you've got to read His Dark Materials. They're really good and the movie is coming out in December on the first book, The Golden Compass. Hope I helped! ~;- )

I recently read The Year of the Secret Assignments by Jaclyn Moriarty, and it was really interesting.
It is about two rivalry schools, one is like a preppish school and the other is more rebel.Well they do a pen pal letter exchange thing between the school and three best friends girls at the preps get three guys letters from the other school and like a bunch of things happen and the pals all hep each other and stuff and it is verrrrrrry interesting.I will warn you though it is vvery boring at first.
hope this helps..im close to ur age so it sld but idk

You can go to Amazon.com and search:
"Lost from Atlantis Book 1" - Book 2 is coming out soon, Book 3 is in editing and will be out soon too.
"Death by Murder David Lindsay" - you have to search that way. There's a lot of sex in it.
and "Super Spaghetti."
They're all available for free right now through Kindle Unlimited, which you can get with a free trial - Google how to get it. Then you can read it online or with a free Kindle phone app if you don't have a Kindle.
