If its dumped far enough out it wont ..........
But a fishing trawler might catch it in its nets one day .....
Bear in mind that at 2 key points of the investigation, the tides were at their fullest and were heading back OUT.
I can elaborate on this angle if you like. But as you think Im up my own a...e I'll keep my opinion on this angle to myself :)

Bodies and body parts can sometimes get washed back up, but not always. I speak from personal experience - I had two elderly relatives who fell off their boat very near to land, only one was ever found about a week later a long way north. The other has never been found. The police re-enacted the events, noting the currents, etc of that night to work out where the bodies may have travelled to. As horrible as it is to think about, it is true that bodies can, and do, get eaten or decompose quite rapidly in water. Also, Madeleine was a tiny little thing so if this theory is true, then it's quite possible she would never be found.

Have the police actually released this ? All the speculation in the media is unhelpful. They criticise portuguese police ....why ? because the portuguese police aren't giving them more ammunition to play with that's why. Our media haven't got a clue about the real investigation and they know it so they have to speculate endlessly. And on the flip side our media (and they would deny this) are revelling in the potential guilt of the parents of this young girl. Whatever happens, the Portuguese and the English peoples agree that a person is innocent until proved otherwise. Let's not be so quick to insult our portuguese brothers and sisters and let's reserve judgement on this case because if these parents aren't proved guilty then we won't be able to take back the hurt that I would imagine all the speculation is doing (let alone not having their daughter with them).

A body in the sea not always gets washed back. The portuguese police is doing what they can to solve the problem but I suspect the british police does not care a bit. After the publicity that the case received it would be scandalous to think that an "innocent british couple" could murder their own child. Great Britain is such a "civilized' place.

Not if it is weighted down but horrible it sounds it could be someones 'catch' some day. Hope we are not talking serious here as I haven't a clue how this is going to go, just wish that Madelene could be found safe and well. If not at least her little body would put a closure on this

I think the police are under a huge amount of pressure to resolve the case, this would be the only answer they could give without a body.

How convenient.
Talk about clutching at straws.
There is NO PROOF she is dead at all.
And yes, unless a body was weighted down with something very heavy, the gases would build and a body would come to the surface.
