This is Conjunctivitis and is very contagious. Use boiled, cooled water or breastmilk on a cotton bud or tissue to wipe it away. Take her to the doctor for medicine drops to get rid of it.

Make sure to wash your hands everytime you touch it as you will get it very quickly.

My doctors nurse told me to use green tea bags. It really works! I buy decaf and prepare as usual squeeze most but not all the liquid out. once its cooled enough start at the outer corner of eye lid gently massage across eye lid towards tear duct and lightly massage tear duck. Use a separate bag for each eye. Don't reuse same bag. You can do this 3-4x a day. Plus it also cleans the mucus off a lot easier than water. You'll notice a difference in a day but do it till its completely gone

PUt a warm wash cloth on the eyes and massage.

It is most likely a clogged tear duct.

This happened to my baby. I thought it was pink eye or something and took her to the dr and they said it was a blocked duct and that soaking it will help to un block it and it did withi n a day

Yes, it is an eye cold. You just need to keep it clean, constaly cleaning it. Dont wipe it with your fingers. Normally it will just go away. If it doesnt then its infected. you will need to go get eye drops from the dr.

SOUNDS TO ME LIKE PINK EYE. YOU NEED SPECIAL EYE DROPS PRESCRIBED FROM THE BABIES DOCTOR. PINK EYE IS HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS IF LEFT UNTREATED IT WILL SPREAD TO THE OTHER EYE.

GOOD LUCK!
