It's actually not Jack Murphy stadium anymore it's Qualcomm but yes that is a really nice area. Most of those condos are fairly new but PRICEY! You want to stay away from southeast San Diego.

I lived in a rented condo in Mission Valley for a few years after my divorce. Mission Valley has kind of a reputation of being a place where a lot of people live post divorce...that's neither good nor bad. Lots of single people there, not a lot of families at all. Generally a lot of transiency for that reason (what I mean by transiency is that people don't stay very long, they often move on after a few years. I don't mean homeless people, although there are a few that camp out by the river that goes down the center of the valley.)

It's a really central area...freeway close to a lot of things. Close to the beaches, close to downtown, close to Balboa Park, and really close to the shopping malls.

I'm familiar with the Bluffs, not a bad place, but some of the units are kind of close to Friars Rd which is a big east/west busy road. You'd have to make sure the unit in question wasn't too noisy. I lived in a rented condo to the west of there in a big complex that was right next door to a great YMCA, and a few blocks from a nice bicycle path along the river toward the sea.

Relative to the rest of San Diego, I do not think of Mission Valley as being pricey, rather, middle of the road. Lots of areas are more expensive, some less so.

The area near the Qualcomm stadium is new and it's sort of in the isolated area of Mission Valley because the development ends near there, although there are major shopping areas within a couple of miles away. It is a safe and nice area.

Personally, Mission Valley is mainly good for shopping because there are two big malls within a few miles of each other. The traffic can get backed up because the 8 FWY divides the city and only a handful of big streets connect across the freeway. Also the 8 and the 805 connector can get real busy. It's not that cheap either. For that price, I'd rather live more toward the beach such as Ocean Beach or La Jolla. But then I love the outdoors. From MV, you will probably have to drive 20 minutes to the nearest beach.

There aren't too many bad areas near MV but a few of the tougher areas that I can think of are some parts of downtown SD and Logan Heights. But try not to venture too far east or south of MV.

Areas around Qualcommn statdium is a really good nice area no violence. if you want to stay away from all that dont move to south east san diego and some areas in city heights or logan ave stay away from those but other than that Mission Valley is near the mall and downtown and the Qualcommn Statdium area is nice.

By the stadium isn't bad, but on the days there is a football game, you'll regret living there. Traffic is a nightmare. If you want to be in Mission Valley, try the other side of the 163 freeway by Fashion Valley Mall.

Mission beach, Pacific beach, Ocean beach, Hillcrest area, mission hills and bankers hill are all fine areas. The beach areas have traffic issues during rush hour.

the section close to the Qualcomm stadium is new and this is style of interior the remoted part of undertaking Valley because of the fact the form ends close to there, even however there are significant buying components interior a pair of miles away. that's a secure and marvelous section. individually, undertaking Valley is principally solid for buying because of the fact there are 2 enormous department shops interior some miles of the different. The site visitors can get subsidized up because of the fact the 8 FWY divides the city and purely a handful of huge streets connect around the throughway. additionally the 8 and the 805 connector can get real busy. this is no longer that much less costly the two. For that value, i'd fairly stay extra in direction of the sea coast which includes Ocean sea coast or l. a. Jolla. yet then i like the exterior. From MV, you will in all threat could stress 20 minutes to the closest sea coast. There are not too many undesirable components close to MV yet a number of the harder components that i will think of of incorporate some areas of downtown SD and Logan Heights. yet attempt to no longer project too a good distance east or south of MV.

Mission Valley is great but a lot of traffic!! You can walk to some places so that is nice. Stay away from South East SD and Spring Valley/Lemon Grove......El Cajon is pretty bad in some areas too.

I'm moving to San Diego too, and Mission Valley sounds new and nice... but pricey, like everybody confirms.

Serra Mesa is really close to the stadium and the rent isn't that bad, if you plan on renting. I wouldn't live near the college/El Cajon Blvd area or East SD.. Home, Division... Chula Vista is hit and miss...forget Logan although with the baseball park, expect that area to go through changes.
