I went to my regular doctor at about 5 weeks to confirm what the home pregnancy test said and then saw an OBGYN for the first time at 6 weeks. They didn't say that I was too early to be seeing them.

This is completely normal. Prior to about 7 weeks the doctor has only a slight chance of being able to see the embryo with a sonagram and therefore there is no point in going to see the doctor prior to this. Also the heart is not beating prior to this. Since 20% of pregnancies end in miscarriage early on they also bit a bit longer to make sure everything is ok.

Yes this is normal, one in ten pregnancies will terminate in the first 8 weeks and there really is nothing they can do that early except fill out paperwork and give you prenatals because there really is no baby. You are only 2 weeks from conception so it is really still just splitting cells. Believe me you will see the dr enough, and make sure you do know that your first appointment will be a long one. Congrats!

yes it's normal most Dr. like to see you between 8 and 12 weeks because there isn't much to see yet. With my first daughter my visit was at 10 weeks and 2 days and my second daughter was at 8 weeks and 3 days. In the pics of them you can see my first better. I'm 5 weeks right now and my fist visit I will be almost 10 and that's right were I wanted it. Good Luck with everything

yep it's normal, i went to my doc to only confirm my pregnancy at 5weeks and got an ultrasound (paid for that myself) to make sure my embryo was in my uterous (bc i was paranoid about having an etopic pregnancy) but after that appointment I didn't go back until my 14th week. Most docs wont see you so early (unless you have a reason, ie bleeding, cramping, etc.) bc there isn't really too much to be done and also bc once u hit your second trimester the chances of miscarriages reduce greatly.
Good luck with your baby!

When you first find out you are pregnant you get blood taken and all sorts of tests. Then the Dr wants to see you every 4 weeks for check-ups. I am 11 weeks and heard the heartbeat 2 weeks ago. Pretty cool! Congrats!! :)

Getting in at all in you first trimester is quite the undertaking. THe profession is so short on offices, doctors and nurses, and so many pregnancies cant be saved in the first trimester.
Yes, generally 10 weeks is normal.
I didnt see my midwife until i was 8 weeks.

to tell you the truth, it dosn't sound right. You should do some research both on the internet and call some other doctors to inquire more about their procedures. Do all you can ; ) be an information junkie when it comes to pregnancy and children. you can't ever be prepared enough!
hope this helps

tooth complications are not an illustration that something is inaccurate or no longer incorrect. I had drank alot of milk and calcium products yet I nevertheless had issues of my tooth. looks the ladies I had took all my calcium and left none for ME!!!! merely shop up with what you're doing and don't situation. savor your being pregnant its the main useful time of your existence different than the time of giving beginning and finding at what the two considered one of you have added into this international. sturdy luck!!!!!!
