We grieve over the death of a pet. This reaction is only natural. Society does not offer a grieving pet owner a great deal of sympathy. Even a close friend may comment "It's only a dog. You can always get another. "Such reaction would be heartless given the lose of a human friend or family member, and it is generally recongnised that a person who has experienced such a loss needs the support of friends and family. Still the loss of a pet affects our emotions as it was a part of the family. These feelings usally progress through several stages. Recognizing them can help us cope with the grief we feel. The stages are: DENIAL, BARGAINING, ANGER and GRIEF This is the stage of true sadness. The pet is gone, along with the guilt and anger and only an emptiness remains. The final stage RESOLUTION all things come to an end even grieving. As time passes, the distress dissolves as the pet owner remembers the good times, not the pet's passing. And, more often then not, the answer lies in a new pet, a new companion animal to filfill the need for a pet in the household. Euthanasia is always a difficult choice but it stops the suffering of both pet and owner.

I know how you feel about your dog. I have a little white poodle, and my mom has two other ones. I love them all so much and my grandma eve just got one. They are all little poodles and I love them all so much. All that I can say is that you are the only one that can decide what to do. She is your dog, so you have to make the decision based on what you think is best for her. Nobody else on here has lived with this dog and loves her like you do, so they can't help you. Just spend a lot of time with your dog and see how she acts. You should be able to pick up on signs of how she is feeling. If you think that she is totally misrable and is not happy at all then it might be best to make that really hard decision. If not, then maybe you should just let her live out the remainder of her life in your loving home. Whatever you do, you have to decide on your own though because nobody else knows this dog or how much you really do love her. I really am sorry for you. No matter what happens though, just love her through the whole thing.

I lost my two golden retrievers 10 years ago and if I talk about how they died, I'll still cry. Time does help. I have had many dogs since then, but Micah & Mandy was the first dogs I had as an adult and they are still in my heart. So, I know how much you're hurting. It does get better, but there's no easy way to get past it.

After we lost Micah & Mandy I did rescue dogs from the freeway and the side of the road and they found a happy home with us and it makes you feel good to know that you gave a dog a second chance at life and they seem to know it.

My heart goes out to you.

you can ask about antivenoms , but with a small dog , there might be too much damage to fix.

You might do well to get another Dog from a rescue shelter , but dont do it now, greive for your pet and think about it for maybe a week.

You gave the dog a happy life for 6 months , so focus on that .

Get another dog right away because when you come home after having your dog put down it will be even more sad if you come home to nothing

she can be saved with antivenom similarly to the way humans are cured.

It may cost a bit more for your dog, but I'd try it to see if it works.
