I love baking lots of different kinds of cookies and packaging them up all pretty in cellophane with ribbons to distribute to all my friends and family and co-workers. I always feel like the story of the loaves and fishes in the Bible because it seems like there are so many cookies that I can hardly believe that I made and decorated them all. It's a lot of work but I get so much pleasure from sharing with everyone!

My children are my Mom's 22ND and 23rd grandchildren (she's 74 now & competes in Karate!). We were a "Brady Bunch" family in the mid-70's and everyone has kids, etc. It would be IMPOSSIBLE to buy gifts for everyone, so we've worked out a great system:
Since Christmas is about kids, once you're 18 you're an adult. We draw names. I buy presents for 2 children, because I have 2. My brother has 4, so he draws 4 kid's names. We all buy for Grandma and Grandpa and they buy for us all and all of the grandkids, too.
For each other, we do an Ornament Exchange. You buy an ornament for $25-$30 NO MORE, NO LESS. You wrap it anonymously. We then draw cards, and in the true spirit of Christmas, you are allowed "progressive" stealing. The 1st round, 1 steal, then 2, etc. NOTHING IS EVER SAFE until the end of the game.
I look forward to this every year. The best game for me was a few years ago...I had to end the game because there were no more steals left, and the only unopened Ornament left was the one I brought! Everyone roared laughing!
Merry Christmas to ALL!!

Hi Summer Luv
I also love the snow. I love how everything looks so pretty. The white snow, and how it lands in your hair. The christmas tree and the twinkly light on it, and the lights on everyones houses. I also love going to the tree lighting!!!
Every year it's tradition for me and my boyfriend to go home straight from work (they like the tree at about 8pm), put on our winter clothes and head off to our favourite pub restaurant. We live close to the city centre so as we walk to the restaurant we get to play in the snow. When we get to the restuarant we have some lovely, waming winter food, like soup and crusty bread rolls, or a stew or sausages and mash. Then we share a dessert and have some cocoa. Then we leave and walk to the city centre where they let off fireworks and play music before they turn on the lights. Then we watch as the city light decorations are lit and the christmas trees are too. More fireworks go off which is lovely as they play christmas music too.
Then after all the fun it's tradition to go shopping for christmas decorations for our tree! We love to do this. I can't wait to do all that this year, I have to wait until 22nd November though!
Great question - happy holidays!

Christmas Eve. Our kids don't come until Christmas morning and the house is all clean and decorated. I usually cook a meal and have another couple over. It's the calm before the storm.
I also like the time Christmas morning after everyone has open their gifts. The kids are playing and I can just sit down and watch everyone. It seems like they are all in their own little world and I am the one looking from the outside in. It is amazing what you can see when you do that.
Have a Merry Christmas

I enjoy the Christmas atmosphere the most. It's all the little and big things that come together that make it so wonderful and magical.
The snow, the songs, the specials, the decorations, people being nicer than normal, the joy on kids' faces, the giving, spending time with family, etc...

Just how it feels. How happy and peaceful it is when you look out side and see snow on the ground and lights around the windows. How you can always smell Christmas cookies and peppermint. How you can always here Christmas music and people laughing. I just love how it's a happy and care-free time (at least for the kids, lol).
