All the time. expecially when travelling home after nights or a long day shift,

often think, " Did i pass (such a place) " or get home thinking i had not driven down a particular road....

Quite dangerous actually, but at the time you are at that spot you cant remember i am sure if anything happened you would be in total control...

If you mean: When you drive, do you just "go" to were you are suppose to go, but dont think about how to get there.

My answer is yes, I have, you dont have to think about it becasue you go there so many times!

So in a since it is like an auto pilot. with out the flying, and the predetermaned path that the car will drive me there by its self........

Unless you are still in the scared/worried kind of 'er....I hope I don't crash' phase of post driving test mode then you are always in autopilot. Your long term memory/subconcious is doing almost everything for you. It's the same when you get to work, play on the computer anything ! It's only unusual situations that either wake your conscious brain up out of it or (potentially) kill you which, to be fair, gets you out of a day at work. So it's not all bad.

Yes Yes Yes........all the time, I always go the wrong way because i'm so used to going t certain way, for example if I'm heading the same way as I would when I go to work I will automatically miss a turning or something and keep heading for work!!!

Yes, when I'm not confronted by or recovering from the stupidity of other drivers (everyone on the road is stupid but me as it turns out) I'm usually zoning out because the trip is so boring. I want a teleporter! How many years of my life do I have to lose to the car seat??

If I'm familiar with the area in which I am driving,I've been known to be on auto-pilot. LOL!!
If I'm in a strange area,I stay very focused.
