sound card donot work?

sound card donot work?

my onboard sound card do not work, so i install pci sound card . cmi 8738 audio device driver(wdm) version, it load the drivers, i go to device manager no yellow mark, still no sound
what could be the problem?

Try disabling all startups in msconfig. Install the driver. Check and test it in dxdiag. Once ok, enable startups again in msconfig.

disable the onboard audio device in the BIOS, then make sure the system volume is up and not on mute
