Apply with your State's Dept of Commerce, and get a Sales tax ID.

You cant just go out and avoid sales tax, unless you are going to resell the item you are buying. That's illegal.

We people that buy things wholesale arent penny pinchers looking for a bargain. We collect sales tax on what we sell and pay it to the state. Any other use of a Sales Tax ID is fraud and illegal....

Your State Comptroller will most likely be the department to issue licenses.
One assumes you plan to re-sell the merchandise rather than use it yourself. Most wholesale suppliers require large minimum orders from companies and are interested in on going relationships rather than one or two time orders. (Do you need 1000 widgets and 250 gadgets?)
You will have to prove you are a legitimate business and show credit worthiness even as they usually make first orders proforma. (Paid in advance at the time of the order.)

No you have to be a U.S. citizen in simple terms flow to a motor vehicle apartment place and get a motor vehicle or use a kinfolk considering you need to use your Australian one. Take some drives on edge streets to get used to using on the left of the motor vehicle.
