I live in southern California, I have considered the train and skywalk. But no Base jumping because of a health condition. I can hike but not more than a few miles.

I take it you are going to the National Park. The Sky Walk is NOT, I repeat, NOT in the park. It is on a Native American Reservation west of the National Park. As for the train, it's a cool ride. The train gets "robed" and you don't have to drive. But it takes 2 hours to get there and you are only at the rim for about 3 hours. Since you said you have breathing problems, hiking is out (the trails are really steep). The rim is at 7000 feet and the air is thiner there. If you have a DP plackard, parking souldn't be too big of a deal. You will be doing some walking, but if you stick to the Rim Trail (paved with gentel ups and downs) you should be alright.
As for base jumping, BAD, BAD, BAD Idea. If you do it in the park you are asking for a huge ticket. There are many other reasons this is a bad idea. But mostly because the Canyon has strong up drafts that would whip you around and cause you to get hurt. To see this, all you have to do is look at the birds riding them over the Canyon.

My one trip to the Grand Canyon become in the direction of the beginning up of March. We basically did an afternoon obtainable - drove up from Phoenix the day in the previous and stayed in Williams, AZ (it fairly is approximately 2 hours north of Phoenix) and took a custom to the canyon and then did a bus excursion around the rim and drove decrease back to Phoenix (actually Scottsdale) that evening. i think of they have something stated as the Ghost inn (or something like that) actual down interior the canyon the place you need to stay. there is likewise a lot of lodging around the canyon.

I would take the Train from Williams to the South Rim. DO NOT go to the SkyWalk.

I'm told most people drive 5 hours and 15 minutes to get to the Canyon and then stay for 15 minutes.

There is a cool new skywalk which juts out over the canyon. Plug in Skywalk into a search engine to get details.

Try a jeep tour! They take you out in the desert on a jeep and the views are beautiful. Pink jeep has a great Grand Canyon experience jeep tour.

There is a hotel in the National Park at the rim that you make reservations at as soon as you can. It has a 5 star restaurant, El Tovar, that you have to reserve months in advance. Try to get a reservation for sunset. My sister told us to do that and we did and it was very memorable.
