I actually took two since the box brings two, the first line was very dark but the second looks faint. After reading several questions here I realize that a faint line is a line no matter what so that must mean I'm pregnant. Now I want to get a blood test but I'm not sure where to go? Do I just go to the local hospital, do I need to make an appointment, and how much will it cost me? I don't have a doctor so I'm kind of lost here. I live in Bronx NY. Any feedback people? Thanks.

Thank you so much for all the answers. No I don't have any type of health insurance so again I'm at a lost at that. Now I have a question for all those already mommies. Does your tummy hurt a little at the beginning. I don't feel pain pain, but I feel a little like when my period is going to come: a little bloated and the feeling of something pushing from my inside out. Anyway, I will make an appoint with a Doctor and then get health insurance.

CONGRATULATIONS!!
You don't really need a blood test persay...you're pregnant. So a blood test would just be redundant....and tell you what you already know.
What you need to do now is find yourself an OBGYN, so that you can begin your prenatal care.
The first thing they will do is give you a full exam, including an internal and send you off for blood work. They will check the size of your uterus and depending on how far along you are, they may or may not send you for an ultrasound to hear for a heartbeat.
Congratulations!! This is a wonderful and amazing time in your life!! Make sure to take care of yourself and get to all your prenatal appointments! I'm so excited for you! lol
Buying yourself a copy of What to Expect When You're Expecting is a great idea...
It contains a WEALTH of knowledge and is a good source of daily information about your "condition".
You may also want to sign up with http://www.babycenter.com they too are a great source of info, with timelines, and calenders and articles that are alot of help and comfort in this time of utter confusion!
Good Luck!
***I felt pressure...like a weird bloating in my abdomen....and my actual stomach was bubbley and upset all the time in the beginning...and I was SUPER burpy in the very beginning...it wasn't pretty...lol
** Oh and yes the lady two down makes a good point...going to the drug store and getting some prenatal vitamins with folic acid and a calcium supplement is a great idea.
**Oh and if you have a cat...someone else needs to start changing your litter box ...or if you are still going to do it ...make very very sure that you don't inhalf the dust and wash your hands thoroughly after wards...pregnant women aren't supposed to come in contact with some bacteria that is found in cat feces....FYI :)

Planned parenthood clinics will give you a free pregnancy test and the staff can give you basic prenatal instructions and help you find obs in your area.Health clinics work on a sliding scale fee or call an ob/gyn officeand they can do it for about $150.
Of course, if you call the 800 number on the box, they'll tell you that to put the test on the back of the commode, take a step back and if you can see both lines then you're pregnant.
But go to a drugstore NOW and get vitamins with folic acid -- ask the pharmicist which to get if you aren't sure, but as long they don't have too much vitamin A any of them should be just as good as (and cheaper than) prenatal vitamins.
Where ever you go-- ask for any samples of anything they have for pregnant women or infants

Make an appointment with the local health department to take a pregnancy test. They usually base things on your income. After they give you a pregnancy test, and it comes up positive, they'll talk to you about nutrition and such. Then they should refer you to a local ob/gyn. Good Luck!

You can schedule an appointment with the OB or midwife that you want to get your prenatal care from. You can go to planned parenthood to get a pregnancy test if you want to. If two pregnancy test came back positive, you are pregnant.

Yep you pregnant. That is what happened to me when I found out I was pregnant with my first baby. I took the test turned around to get in the shower and figured I would look when I got out, I couldnt' resist and I turned back around and the line was already there. I was in shock but oh so happy. Congrats girl you are pregnant.

even if its faint you are. its still there. you have to have a peice of paper stating that you are preg so go to life choices or planned parenthood and then make an appt with an obgyn of your choice. also try to get on pregnancy medicaid if you can because it will help out tremendously with all the money you will need to diaper this baby. good luck and congrats!

Yes, you are pregnant. There is no such thing as a false-positive pregnancy test. If you have insurance, they can direct you where to go.. Or your local hospital can tell you who to call. Best wishes.
