Only about 20 million people listen to Rush Limbaugh. The rest of us think he is a blowhard who will agree with anything any conservative in power says or does, and disagree to the same degree with any democrat. We believe this because it is mostly true, and we like to think for ourselves. And fox news is regarded as nearly the same. Do you not realize that we watch fox and then cnn and the others because we want all sides of a story and then decide the truth for ourselves? That's why the others do so much better, because liberals don't watch fox. Try it sometimes, you may realize that you don't agree with anyone in news or radio completely, and this is as it should be. If we all would think for ourselves, maybe the world would be a better place. Okay, maybe not the world, but at least our country.

You know you're actually right. I did think that. It's nice to hear that it's not true. Though I do watch fox news sometimes to get the "other" perspective. The biggest problem I have with fox is that their conservative bias is much greater than CNN and other media's liberal bias, yet they try to pass themselves off as "fair and balanced" or "we report, you decide."

I watch Fox and then others including Al-Jazeera English because it's important to see a spectrum of views. I applaud you. But not everyone sees it that way, especially not when you look at who is making it onto the media airwaves, who is getting elected, etcetera. When 1/3rd of Americans still connect Saddam with the September 11 attacks (with highest numbers with Fox News watchers), you get a perception that the fiercest right-wing people are completely delusional. Many people on this board are.
On the reverse, many people think all liberals do is say "Bush is stupid" and say Iraq is all for oil and even that the September 11 attacks were "an inside job." They make serious debate nearly impossible.

First off you have to come to terms with the fact that the 'liberals' are a strawman created by the right wing of the GOP. This 'character', their version of Emmanual Goldstein is capable of every crime in the book, 'hates' America and wants to raise your taxes. The 'liberal' is anyone not fully on board with the current GOP's leadership. Second, there's a whale of a difference between 'conservatives' and the reactionaries that have managed to hijack the Republican party. Let's be real, how many 'Eisenhower' Republicans in positions of leadership are left in the Republican party...damned few if any! As far as what you personally 'watch' or listen to I haven't a clue, but there are a lot of people who do tune in and are subject to propaganda and disinformation on a wholesale basis. This isn't just an accident of programming either...the purpose of this propaganda is to create 'good guys and bad guys'...simplistic reasoning and the end of any real political dialog.

Many questions have a common thread on this board. There are redundant phrases and talking points. Usually these phases and points can be traced back to there origin, usually Rush Limabaugh or FOX News sometimes Hannity or Savage. A few Neocons can think for themselves. The ones with the redundant questions have never had an original idea. Why do you think they call themselves dittoheads.

I couldn't agree with you more. Rush, while entertaining at times, isn't really that interesting to listen to. He is like a broken record most of the time and that isn't something I am into.
I do watch Fox News, I also watch CNN. The funny thing about it is. They say damn near the exact same things. Just one has a liberal lean and the other has a conservative lean.

when someone is saying the Rush party line... I start to wonder... but...
why do conservatives think no liberals watch Fox News?
we also listen to Limbaugh... it's so horrible some can't help it... much like many of Stern's listeners...
why are you guilty of the exact thing your complaining about?

And yet you are generalizing as badly as you claim liberals are.
The reason that liberals generally believe that MANY conservatives only watch fox and rush is because they almost always side with the stated opinion of those shows.

I wish to politely point out that you are guilty of the same type of thinking that you are accusing liberals of. We are all individuals as are conservatives. Most people are not ignorant enough to think that all are the same in either party. You could say "why do SOME liberals think conservatives...." but not address the question as if all liberals think anything in particular about all conservatives.

Good question. Rush and Fox news aren't real conservatives to begin with! REAL conservatives believe in SMALL government and being fiscally responsible. Something that these people are not.

I'm not a "conservative", so I guess due to the impression of duality in our political system, I'd be a "liberal".
I try to get information from every available source, even if they're so offbase (let's say...those conspiracy theory sites?). I get a laugh out of the news every once in awhile.
I think there are people on all sides who could use a bit of information from all kinds of media sources.
