A human has a soul! A puppy is a trusting pet. If I needed food and couldn't buy it, I'd kill a bird or a bunny or any other non protected wildlife I could. A COCKROACH is dirty and nasty and carries disease. Unless you are a bleeding heart liberal NONE of those are the same at all. How would you feel about killing plants? They're living things, as well. If you cut out killing all animals, and then all plants, we'd starve to death!

I would kill a cockroach for free if they came near my home. I would kill a bird or a puppy for a million dollars to give my family financial security. But I wouldn't kill a person (although some people in pre-Christian biblical times had killed people and still won favor with God). Bottom line-I wouldn't have the guts for it. Even the bird and puppy would be a stretch.

This is the deal;
1. For a cockroach = free
2. For a bird =?
3. For a puppy =?
4. For a human, the question is, what kind of human, a good man?, a criminal? but for a terrorist, I'll kill him for free

If there is a reason for it, then yes (for the first 3). Like if the bird or puppy had gotten run over but was still conscious (no way of living). The cockroach, if it was impeding on my life, yes (if it were in my house). A human, no. Human life is much more valuable because it is a precious gift of choice.

Have killed most likely a million cockroaches, they breed and bring in diseases.
Would kill a bird for food any day.
Would put a dog down if there was now way of saving it and it was in extreme pain that could not be controlled by medical intervention. Or carried rabis or any other disease to effect general dog population and human.
Would not kill a human unless, another was to try and kill me, or mine. Humans do not equate to insects, birds or dogs, cats....Certainly the wanton destruction of any living, breathing, animal is wrong. The killing of insects to save humanity from diseases is imperative if I love my fellow man.
With this reasoning, I would have to say the mere fact of taking an apple from a tree and eating it would be wrong, the cutting of corn to feed the masses and self, would be wrong.
When in the defense of humanity, killing of a human is acceptable.
In the defense of humanity from disease, famine; insects or carriers of such are acceptable killing.
In the defense of humanity animals, dog, cats, birds, are acceptable killing for a number of reason, food, and the carrier of diseases. Some countries today do not allow people to have animals for pets, why....because they eat the human food supply.

I kill cockroaches for free.
There are several differences involved between cockroaches and dogs. There is the question of co-existence, for example. The relationship of canine familiarus to the human race has been symbiotic. Dogs have herded our sheep, gaurded out homes and places of business, assisted in rescues and the recovery of cadavers, etc.
Cockroaches, though, are competitors for food, space, and other resources from whom humans derive no benefit at all. Indeed, to the extent they take over a place -- humans tend to leave it.
Birds are a broad category of creature and we'd have to take them by types, for which I don't have patience.
Also, there's the question of genetic proximity. We feel more kindly toward mammals as a rule than to other forms of life. Toward other humans than toward even other mammals. There is a perfectly natural instinct in this and its not something I feel inclined to second guess.
There are other factors, too, but as noted above I'm lazy. Give me the 10 pts and you might pep me up a bit. ;-)

Cockroach--yes. People don't get paid to kill birds, they pay to kill them--buying poultry to eat gives money to the companies to continue breeding animals to kill. I agree with you that killing animals shouldn't be more acceptable than killing humans. What gives us the right to think our lives are so much more important than the lives of other creatures?

I'd kill a cockroach for free.
I eat chicken, so I guess that is like killing a bird, and I pay to do that...
But I could not kill a puppy, kitten, and most definitely not a human being.

I don't think killing for amusement is OK, or fun.....but like most people when a lot of money is involved I can rethink my stance on things.
Your asking would I kill something for a million dollars? Yeah....almost anything...I would kill for 1 million dollars IF there would be no repercussions against me. (Jail time, revenge killing, whatever) The fact of the matter is I could really use the million dollars, and my morals ARE for sale. They're expensive but they are most definitely for sale.

a a bird and a puppy no, human only if they where horrible and killing other people and stuff, cause that protects others, the chances of that happening witha puppy or a bird is slim. I'd kill a cockraoch cause they freak me out and I don't consider them an animal.
