He showed his leadership qualities by being there at ground zero throughout the turmoil, unlike NY Senator Hillary Clinton who wouldn't go near the area for weeks save for a brief fly-by in an airplane to view the carnage. He didn't sit in his office and scream that he needed help from the federal government, like Ray Nagin & Catherine Blanco did after Katrina.
He also sent a 10 million dollar donation back to a Saudi prince who expressed sympathy but said we got what we deserved for our foreign policy.
What else should he have done, put out the fires?, held the buildings up with his arms? donned a cape & flew after the bad guys? Just because he is a Republican means he could never possibly do enough as far as some people are concerned.

EDIT-And as for Caldudes Mob reference below, thanks to Giuliani heavily prosecuting the 5 heads of the NY crime families using the RICO act when he was a US Attorney, the NY mob has been splintered and weakened to a shadow of its former self, so I doubt he was giving business to the mafia, but nice try at a cheap shot.

Just the fact that he did not have a nervous breakdown and knew how to keep New York City together, operating in emergency status, while dealing with Washington, the media and a lot of very scared people in the capacity most mayors could never do. This was the most terrifying terrorist attack in history, can anyone be forgetting this so soon? I do not think anyone should live in fear of a terrorist attack because that is how the terrorists want us to live so they would be ahead of the game if we lived in constant fear. Hopefully after 9-11 everyone should be able to comprehend just want the terrorists are planning to achieve at every Americana's expense. Rudy has already experienced these terrorists in a capacity hopefully no one else will ever have to experience again.

thanks Edge Caliber you are already blaming Rudy for not knowing there was toxins in the air, I always thought it was a presidental thing, you know blame the President for everything wrong? Seems like Rudy will fit in just fine as our next Commander in Chief. Thanks again.

AGREED.Giuliani is the main over rated candidate i will think of of.He botched the 9/11 disaster by ability of no longer having an adequate plan in place for the predicted assaults. This probable would have saved many hearth fighters and civilians.among different issues his term as Mayor helped divide the city alongside classification and race.He took the exciting out of long island! He locked a gaggle of low point offenders up and compelled them to serve harsh sentences with none eye torwards rehabilitation. He helped to take college classes from the Prisons and now a majority of those low point offenders are starting to be out years later as annoying center Prisoners without theory what to do to stay to tell the tale interior the mainstream.i'm unwell of Rudy grandstanding the 9/11 situation while he did no longer do something efficient in the time of 9/11.in actuality the date 9/11 is now a cliche because of the fact he mentions it another speech!

He wandered around like an the idiot he is for hours because of his brilliant plan to place his Office of Emergency Management HQ in the WTC.

But,to hear Rudy tell it,he did most of,well, everything on 9/11.

Hell,he even said that he spent more time down at Ground Zero than the first responders.

Rudy Giuliani,the "Hero" of 9/11.

Yeah,right.

Remember, Guiliani boasted last week that :

"I was at Ground Zero as often, if not more, than most of the workers. I was there working with them...I'm one of them."

the reality~~~

"The number of visits Guiliani made to Ground Zero between September 11 and December, 2001, is one-tenth of the number of visits he's previously claimed to have made."

Nothing. He tries to convince everyone that he deserves the credit for rescue efforts but the people in the trenches (firemen and other rescuers and people trapped in the debris who helped themselves and others escape) are the real heros and credit should be given where credit is due.

Giuiliani took command, he showed leadership and inspiration during a time of mass confusion and indecision.

Rudy showed the world what real leadership can do under fire. He remained calm, assessed much of the situation calmly, and directed people to do things necessary to regain control, during the early hours of 9/11 at the WTC..

He was instrumental in getting his mob-oriented construction company friends to come in and clean up the WTC mess.

He also stood there and supervised while other people recovered bodies and the personal belongings to those who perished in the collapse.
